Allen J. Dionne

Allen Dionne Sr. was born on July 25 ,1948, in Providence, RI and passed away unexpectedly on July 25, 2026, his 78th birthday in Denver, CO.

Allen was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather whose greatest joy in life was his family. He shared a loving 55-year marriage with his wife, Irene, and together they built a life centered on love, commitment, and family.

He was the proud father of his son, Allen Dionne Jr. (Sara), and his daughter, Kerri Robichaud (Todd). Of all the roles he held throughout his life, none meant more to him than being "Grumpy Gramps" to his four beloved grandsons, Tyler, Trey, Mitchell, and Caden. Though the nickname reflected his playful personality more than his true nature, everyone who knew him understood that his grandsons were at the center of his heart. He cherished every opportunity to spend time with them, watch them grow, and celebrate their accomplishments. His love and unwavering support will remain with them always.

A lifelong and passionate Boston Bruins fan, Allen rarely missed an opportunity to cheer on his team. He was also an avid walker who found joy and peace outdoors, embracing life's simple pleasures. Many will remember him not only for the miles he walked, but also for the camaraderie he shared with everyone he encountered. Whether he was out for one of his daily walks or simply running errands, his signature Bruins hat was almost always with him. It became part of who he was and made him instantly recognizable to neighbors and friends.

He leaves behind a legacy of family, dedication, and unconditional love that will continue to inspire all who knew him. Although he will be deeply missed, his memory will live on in the hearts of his beloved wife, children, grandchildren, extended family, and friends. Allen’s memorial mass will be held on August 20, 2026, 10:00 am at St. Paul’s church 30 Warwick Ave, Cranston, RI 02905. The family asks that you perform an act of kindness in Allen’s honor or plant a tree in his memory.
