Obituary

Barb Burton, the heart and soul of her family, died on July 14, 2025, in the city where she was born and spent much of her life. She was 77.

She's survived by her brother David, his wife Melinda; daughters Erin, Cory and her husband Tony, Holly and her husband Tracy, and Linzie and was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry, and siblings Tommy, Susie and Stevie.

Born on November 17, 1947, in Denver, Barb grew up working in her family's flower shop — a fitting start for someone who spent her life helping things bloom. She was a true artist — not just with flowers, but with anything she touched.

Barb's greatest joy in life was being the best mom to her daughters. She gave them everything she had — her time, her strength, her full attention, and her endless love. She showed up for them in every way, through every season of their lives. She was their anchor, their safe place, and their first call — always picked up the phone and was always ready to listen, to help, or just to be there. Being their mom wasn't just something she did — it was who she was.

Barb was "Faf" to everyone who loved her, including her grandchildren - Max, Aniah, Taylor, Michelle, Summer, Jordan, Kira, Charlie, and Riley; her great grandchildren - Emma, Ila, Rhythm, Easton and Aria; and her nieces and nephews — Summer, Seth, Benjamin, Lacey, Sam, Elizabeth, and Jysikka. — all of whom held a special place in her heart.

Barb had a way of showing up for people. Whether it was cooking a meal for a perfect stranger down on their luck, talking a friend through a hard time, or just offering a warm smile, she gave freely and without hesitation. She was kind, funny, and deeply human.

Just a week before she passed, Barb fulfilled a longtime dream with a trip to Costa Rica. We're incredibly grateful she got to have that experience, and it brings us comfort knowing she left this world feeling full, happy, and deeply loved.

She was everything to everyone, and she was loved beyond measure. In her honor, plant something beautiful, help someone who needs it, or simply call your mom.

We'll celebrate Barb's life on Saturday, July 19, 2025, at her brother David's home — 324 Leonards Road in Boulder. Beginning at noon, we'll take time for any and all to share memories, followed by a light reception.
