Barbara L. Hughes 93, of Denver died October 5, 2023. She was born Barbara Lee Kiesler on February 10, 1930, the only child of Stella and William Kiesler. She attended Denver Public Schools, graduating from North High School in 1947. She was a graduate of the University of Denver with both a Bachelor's Degree and a Master's Degree. Barbara also attained a Doctor of Education Degree from the University of Nevada-Reno.

She married Eugene H. Thompson in 1954. They were divorced. She married John K. (Kevin) Hughes in 1973. Mrs. Hughes was an elementary teacher in the Denver Public Schools for 39 years. Barbara was a member of Alpha Gamma Delta Social Sorority, Delta Kappa Gamma honorary educational society and the Denver Lyric Opera Guild.

She is preceded in death by her husband John Kevin Hughes.
