Caralee A.
Zimmer
October 17, 1939 – February 23, 2026
Caralee Ann Zimmer, 86, of Lakewood passed away on February 23, 2026. She was a wonderful daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, friend, colleague, and neighbor. She left us with a hole in our hearts but buckets of memories, she will be missed!
She was proceeded in Death by her husband John Zimmer and survived by her children Doug, Steve (Debbie), Jerry, and Sandy, her 8 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews and brother Pat Chandler and his wife Carol.
She was born on October 17, 1939, in Pueblo CO to her parents William and Pauline Chandler. The family moved from Pueblo to Denver when she was two years old. She grew up in Denver and graduated from West High School in 1957.
She began dating John Zimmer in April of 1956, they were married July 19, 1958.
Caralee started her banking career in 1965 as a Night Proof Operator proudly worked her way through the banking system ending with VP International Banking and Corporate Recruiter. She retired once in the mid 1990's and started A Dream World Nursery for newborns to 2 years old. When that was over it was back to the bank until 2001. If this was not enough, she was also the President of the National Association of Bank Women, what a woman!
She never put her career ahead of her family and was the best wife and mom anyone could have asked for. Just an awesome cook of homemade meals, desserts, and brown bag lunches. Holiday meals were her favorites; the Zimmer New Years Day party and 4th of July parties were a staple of family and friends.
Her hobby was living! The list is long of the things she loved, dogs, Elvis, gardening, Cadillac's, shoes, Slot Machines, going to breakfast, vacuuming, watching football, traveling and so much more. "She made best of difficult times with humor!" May she rest in peace and enjoy breakfast with Jesus!
