It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Cheri Marie Gee age 72, of Longmont, Colorado, who passed away peacefully on January 10, 2026, surrounded by her loving family. Cheri left this world to be with her Savior, Jesus Christ, after a life rooted in faith, love, and devotion to her family.

Cheri was born on February 16, 1953, in Denver, Colorado, to Homer and Lola Chenot and was raised in Morrison, Colorado. She graduated from Bear Creek High School in 1971. In her youth, she met Wayne Gee at church camp, and they later married on July 28, 1972. Together they welcomed their daughters, Cherise and Rachelle. After Wayne tragically passed away in a workplace accident in 1977, Cheri showed incredible strength in raising her daughters on her own, always putting family first.

In 1988, Cheri met her forever partner, James "Jim" Tarantino, and together they shared many happy years creating lasting memories with their children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren until his passing in 2018.

Cheri was a faithful, kind, and loving woman whose family meant everything to her. She worked in administrative roles for many years before retiring in 2016, and she cherished every moment spent with her loved ones.

Cheri was preceded in death by her parents, Homer and Lola Chenot; her husband, Wayne Gee; her beloved partner, Jim Tarantino; and her brothers Arlen, and Alfred Chenot.

She is survived by her children: Cherise (Cliff) Lehmkuhl, Rachelle (Brian) Tiernan, and Tony (Meranda) Tarantino; her grandchildren: Jordan Robinson, Alexis Robinson, Jayden Tiernan, Elizabeth (Tim) Kelly, Vince Tarantino; and her great-grandchildren: Daymian Robinson, Kaelyn Robinson, Andreas Orona, Nova Orona, Oliver Robinson and Anthony Capps. She is also survived by her sister Cathy Retzlaff Walsh, along with extended family and friends who will continue to honor her memory.

A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, May 2, 2026 at 2:00pm at Altona Grange Hall, 9386 N 39th St, Longmont, CO 80503 to honor her life.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital , a cause close to Cheri and Jim's hearts.
