Obituary

On August 30th, 2022, Christina Renee Mendoza passed away surrounded by her loving husband and children. She has now gone home to be with her Lord and Savior.

Renee was born on March 10th, 1959, in Richardson, Texas. In 1989, Renee met her husband Tony in El Paso, Texas. Together they raised 5 children and have 5 grandchildren. Renee achieved her Medical Assistant certification and worked with Dialysis patients. Renee had such a passion and loving heart for children, she ran her own home daycare and held various teaching positions throughout her life in the church and in the private sector. Renee was about to embark on a new chapter in her life, accepting a position with Jeffco Public Schools.

Renee was a loving and dedicated Mother, Wife, and Nana. She loved her family and her grandchildren immensely. She enjoyed trying new experiences, traveling, music, dance, and cooking, especially when it was also enjoyed with family and friends. Renee quilted baby blankets and gave them to family and friends as gifts for their new arrivals. Many of them would comment how much their children loved the blankets and would still not part with them as toddlers. She loved looking forward to planning the next adventure for her and our family. Her true joy was her grandchildren whom she wished she could spend every day with.

She was a strong, independent, and beautiful woman who faced every challenge in her life with courage and dignity. Renee was a source of inspiration to us all and she will be deeply missed by everyone whose lives she touched.

We all know that we will see her again when the lord takes us all home to be with her. Until then we will remember her every day and see her in everything we do. She will never be far from our hearts as she was the heart of this family.

She is survived by her husband Tony Mendoza, her three daughters and two sons, Raena Furtado-Koalenz, Ashley Kennedy, Madison Mendoza, Elijah and Danny Furtado. her grandchildren: Sean Furtado, Jameson Kennedy, Adela Kennedy, Callum Kennedy, Kai Koalenz and Araceli Kennedy. Renee was preceded in death by her father James Tinsley Griffin and her mother Mary Ann Rodgers.

Renee, "You vowed to care for me in sickness and in health, and you have demonstrated this beyond measure. Thank you for taking such good care of me and always being the wonderful and amazing Wife, Mom, and Nana. I love you more than I could ever express." - Tony

We will have a celebration of life to be held in her honor as opposed to traditional funeral services. We request all of Renee's loved ones to join us in celebrating her beautiful life on October 19th, 2022 at Grace Church, 6969 Sheridan Boulevard, Arvada Colorado 80003 10:00 AM.
