Dale Cordell Kistler, born to Charles and Marjorie Kistler in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania on April 13, 1942, had a full life before passing away in Denver on February 1, 2026.
Dale achieved Eagle Scout status before graduating as class president from Kingston High school. He attended Franklin and Marshall College where he was a wrestler and was an active participant in the Lambda Chi fraternity. Dale then went on to earn his medical degree at Temple University. He became a captain in the Air Force while serving as a physician in Viet Nam being awarded a bronze star. After the military, he returned to Denver to complete his residency in Anesthesia; Dale loved being a physician!
His many, varied interests including downhill skiing, scuba diving, mountain biking, horseback riding (he was more than just a cowboy wannabe), owning racehorses with his brother Doug, gambling (he loved getting royal flushes), enjoying good food and wine, travel (setting foot on all 7 continents), and causing occasional mischief (traffic control gates in Vail, perhaps?).
He was a wonderful friend to so many, and the best life partner, his wife Sue could have ever hoped for. His charming smile and twinkling eyes will be missed by everyone who knew him.
Donations can be made in Dale's name to the Wounded Warrior Project or a charity of your choosing. A memorial tribute page in his honor can be accessed via the Veterans Legacy Memorial at www.vlm.cem.va.gov .
Dale's remains will be placed with honors at Fort Logan National Cemetery. A celebration of life will be held on Thursday, May 14, 2026 from 2:00pm - 4:00pm at the Denver Country Club 1700 E. First Avenue, Denver, Colorado 80218. All are welcome and all can raise a glass of Chardonnay to our Dr. Dale.
