Son of Shirley and Thomas Grucella, Dan was born in Akron, OH. He died in the city he cherished, Denver, CO.

He was the beloved husband of William J. Boumans, II, (died November 7, 2023). The bond between Dan & Bill is everlasting. Dan is survived by his siblings Judith, David, Jeffrey, Christina and Kathleen.

Dan's family gathered together in Denver and celebrated his life with a circle of remembrance.
