Daniel Gregg Roberts, age 71 from Aurora, Colorado passed away on April 15, 2024, at The Denver Hospice. Daniel was born June 16, 1952, in Torrence, California, the son of Buddy Charles Roberts and Marion Delores (Tapken) Roberts/Smith.
Daniel graduated from George Washington Highschool in 1970, where he excelled in the ROTC program. After graduation he joined the U.S. Navy in August of 1970. Daniel served on the USS Ranger CV/CVA-61 as a boiler technician. He was stationed in Subic Bay, Philippines during The Vietnam War from 1970-1974. Daniel was honorable discharged from the U.S. Navy on March 8th, 1974, And married Barbara Ann Brubaker on September 28th1974. They would later have 2 sons, William Roberts in 1975, and Shaun Roberts in 1977. They celebrated their 49th anniversary in September, of 2023.
Daniel worked for numerous family-owned businesses in the Denver area and ended his career working for the State of Colorado for 20 years as a Stationary Engineer UCHSC. Daniel was a loyal member of the American Legion post No. 1992 in Aurora, Colorado, Daniel was a den leader for his sons Cub Scouts and Boy Scout Troop. He was a lover of Animals, as well as an avid woodworker and enjoyed teaching this craft to his son Bill. He was an avid Collector of coins and believed they were the key to our history as well as enjoyed sharing this hobby with his sons and grandchildren.
Surviving in addition to his wife Barbara Ann Roberts, are his son William Gregg Roberts and his wife Shiloh of Parker. His sisters Roberta Psilas, and Rosemarie Ward of Smyrna Georgia, 6 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives. In addition to his parents Buddy Charles Roberts, Marion (Tapken) Smith, and stepfather John Franklin Smith, he also is preceded in death by his son Shaun M Roberts.3
Private services will be held on a later date. For those who wish to remember Daniel in a special way make gifts in his memory to American Legion Post 1992, or charity of choice.
