David Easton Hutchison passed away peacefully on July 18, 2025 in Centennial, Colorado at the age of 88.  He was born at Mercy Hospital in Denver, CO on November 3, 1936 to Helen Bryant Hutchison and James Easton Hutchison.  He is a graduate of East High School (1954), Lafayette College (1958) and the University of Colorado Medical School (1963).  He practiced medicine at Mercy Hospital, where both his father and grandfather also practiced, Saint Anthony's Hospital and he was a registered doctor at the Saint Bartholemew's Hospital in London.

Dave's passions reflected a life lived in the State of Colorado.  As a mountain climber, only a handful of Colorado's Fourteeners escaped his ascent.  He was a competitive skier in his younger years and continued to pursue his love of tennis and golf through most of his life.
Dave led a life of service to many on his personal and professional journey.  He served his country as a physician in the U.S. Navy at the Oakland Navy Hospital.  He served his profession as the past president of the Denver Medical Society, as a committee member at the Colorado Medical Society and as a member of the American Board of Surgery.  He served his community, as a member and elder at the Montview Presbyterian Church. Dave also brought his medical skills to the broader community of the Rocky Mountain region, through his participation in the early years of Flight for Life and his medical outreach work to the rural communities of Burlington, Colorado and Goodland, Kansas.

Most importantly, Dave served as the patriarch of a loving family that reflected his sense of compassion and humor.

He is survived by his wife of 62 years Judith Keck Hutchison (married June 15, 1963), daughters Katie Hutchison Heissenbuttel (Bill Heissenbuttel), Suzie Hutchison (Larry Allen) and Helen Hutchison and grandchildren:  Karyn Heissenbuttel, Brian Heissenbuttel, Chris Allen and Jeffrey Allen.

A celebration of life  will be held Friday, September 26, 2025, 1:00 pm at Montview Presbyterian Church, 1980 Dahlia St, Denver, CO 80220.
