David M. Stiles, 84, of Lakewood, Colorado, passed away peacefully on October 2, 2025 in Denver, Colorado.

He was born on April 7, 1941 to Dr. Frank Stiles Jr. and Marion (Rexer) Stiles in East Lansing, Michigan.  After graduating from East Lansing High School in 1959, he earned a B.S. in Zoology from Michigan State University in1965. He went on to earn a M.S. in Biology from University of Michigan in 1968.

David taught Anatomy/Physiology at a Community College in Kalamazoo, MI until 1974.  Then, he worked in clinical research for The Upjohn Company in Kalamazoo, Synergen Inc. in Boulder, CO and served as the Senior Clinical Project Coordinator at Genentech in San Francisco, CA.  He retired in 2003, after the passing of his wife of 37 years.

While he thoroughly enjoyed his chosen career, he also enjoyed hiking and skiing in the Colorado Rockies, playing tennis well into his 70's, and he appreciated good wine, travel, art, music and lifelong learning.

He is survived by his daughters, Jennifer Serpa (spouse Ross), and Emily Askins (spouse Joel), two grandchildren: Ethan Askins and Lydia Askins. He is preceded in death by his parents, wife: Sharon Kahrs Stiles, and sister: Paula Stiles.

A private family memorial will be held. David will be buried in Evergreen Cemetery in Lansing, Michigan.
