We remember and honor a man, father and grandfather who lived life on his own terms - strong-willed, hardworking, and deeply loyal to the people and principles he believed in.

Known by many and lovingly called "Pappy" by his grandchildren, he was a proud businessman who worked right up until his final days. His dedication to his work and his business family was unwavering, and he carried that same loyalty into his faith. He was rough around the edges, stubborn, and liked things done his way — traits that those who loved him understood as part of his determined spirit.

Don found great joy in life's simple pleasures: a good round of golf, a competitive poker game, and time spent with his beloved German Shepherds. He had a generous heart and quietly supported charities and people in need. If you met Don, chances are good that he handed you a $2 bill. He delighted in giving them out to everyone he met, and loved seeing the smiles on kids' faces when they received them.

He carried pride in who he was and what he built, and though life's hardships — including divorce — weighed heavily on him, he continued forward with grit and resolve. He loved humor, and if no one laughed at his jokes, he happily laughed at them himself. Above all, he loved his grandchildren deeply and cherished being their Pappy. His presence was big, his personality unmistakable, and his impact lasting.

He will be remembered with love and gratitude by those who knew him best.

Don's memorial service will be held Friday, March 6, 2026, 3:00 pm at Augustana Lutheran Church, 5000 E Alameda Ave, Denver, CO 80246.
