Donna L.
Newcomer
September 10, 1933 – January 27, 2026
Donna Lou (McCullough) Newcomer passed away on January 27, 2026, at the age of 92 in Denver, CO. Donna was the first of 4 daughters born to Lloyd and Dorothy McCullough. She was born on September 10, 1933, in College Springs, IA. Donna grew up in Villisca, IA where she and her sisters, Arlene and Judy, helped farm with their father while sister, Carol, helped in the home. Donna graduated from Villisca High School where she was Valedictorian of her class. Shortly after graduation she moved to Omaha, NE to attend business school. She met Milton Dean Newcomer in Omaha, and they were married on October 3, 1953, at the Villisca Methodist Church. Donna and Milton welcomed 3 children, Debra Kay, Donna Kathryn and David Kris. Donna worked at various jobs over the years in Omaha and retired from Robert's Dairy. Donna enjoyed her family, which included 4 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
Donna was beloved by many and was described as a kind, thoughtful and fun person who was always ready to help others. She adored children and loved being with them, finding them interesting, fun to be with and incredibly entertaining. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were very special to her. She rejoiced in their accomplishments and celebrated them whenever she could. Besides her own children, she "raised" many others whom she continued to stay in touch with as they grew up and regarded them as part of her own family.
Donna is survived by daughter Debbie (Fritz) Karrer, daughter Kathy (Dave) McAlpin and son Kris Newcomer, grandchildren Julie (Brad) Simbric, Jamie (Brian) Bowman, Michael Karrer and Tommy Karrer. Great grandchildren Jackson and Brix Bowman, Brody and Nolan Simbric and Freddie Karrer, sister Carol Hart and many nieces and nephews.
