Doris Crawford, 95, of Arvada, Colorado, passed away October 21, 2023.  She was born January 16, 1928 in Norwich, England, the daughter of Harry Capes and Ethel Mann.   She was one of 6 children.

Doris and her children came to the United States in 1961 after meeting Alan Harris, her second husband.  They were married for 15 years until divorce. Doris and Stan were married in 1993 and remained united until his death in 2007.

Doris was a cosmetic buyer at Joslins/Dillards for many years until her retirement. She worked at a bakery in her teens and later sewed military uniforms with her sister Edna in a factory during World War II.

Her hobbies were sewing, gardening, and dancing. She was an avid Elvis fan. In her later life, she made dog coats for the dogs of Wolhurst Mobile Home Park where she resided. She knitted/crocheted hats for newborn babies in the hospital.  You would often see her in her teal golf cart riding around the park with her dog, Sara.

In 2020, she moved to an assisted living where she passed away peacefully under hospice care.  She will be laid to rest with Stan at Fort Logan, Denver, Colorado.

Survived by her children, Linda and Kevin, three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren, five nephews, and great-nephews, a niece and her beloved dog, Sara. Preceded in death by her siblings, one niece, parents and husband, Stanley.

Doris was loved by many and will be deeply missed by her family and friends. We will be celebrating her life on Wednesday, November 8, 2023 at 10:30am at Wolhurst Mobile Home Park, Club House, 8201 Santa Fe Drive Littleton, CO 80120.  Flowers may be sent to this address.
