Dorothy "Dot" Lorraine Stenman, 83, was a world traveler, follower of Christ, and friend to all. She passed away on March 28, 2023 after a courageous battle with Parkinson's disease.

Dorothy was born on September 26, 1939 in Denver, Colorado to Elvera and Ervin Stenman. From a young age, she was fiercely independent and had a love for travel and learning. In 1961 Dorothy graduated from Augustana College in Rock Island, IL with a Bachelor of Arts degree. Her chosen career as an Associate of Ministry in the ELCA including serving at several Lutheran churches: St. Mark's in Marion, IA; Gethsemane in Seattle, WA; St. Mark's in San Francisco, CA; St. Paul in Denver, CO, and Augustana in Denver, CO. Dorothy retired in 2004.

Dorothy had a passion for people. She loved spending time with her family and friends. She was also involved in worthwhile non-profits such as Project Angel Heart and Metro Caring. Above all else, Dorothy was a giver. A giver of her time, her resources, her heart; whatever anyone needed. If she could help it, she would never let anyone spend a holiday alone, bringing a host of interesting friends, colleagues, and even strangers to family get-togethers over the years.

She is survived by her brother Ken (Priscilla) Stenman; nieces, Dawn Stenman and Meg Stenman; nephew, Robb (Jen) Stenman, and numerous grand-nieces, grand-nephews, a great grand-niece and friends.

Memorial services will be held Wednesday, April 26, 2023 at 11:00 am at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 1600 Grant St., Denver, CO 80203. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Project Angel Heart in her name.
