Dustin T.
Allee
May 21, 1979 – September 13, 2023
It is with the heaviest of hearts that we announce the passing of Dustin Travis Allee, son of Rita and Woods Allee; brother to Jamie Allee and brother-in-law to Mike Baldassare; father to Isabella and Jackson Allee; uncle to Phoenix Kephart and Hendrix Baldassare; and friend to many.
Dustin was kind, introspective, intelligent and complex. He grew up in Golden and Denver, Colorado and raised his family in Morrison, Colorado. He graduated from South High School and then Metro State. Dustin worked at various jobs including as a technician for the Ice Core Labs and as a geophysicist.
Dustin always enjoyed anything that had to do with the great outdoors. He was creative and loved working with wood. To him, this material was a gift from the earth to be nurtured and shaped into beautiful useful objects. Dustin loved camping to be close to the earth from which we all spring. He also had a love for words, ideas, stories and theories.
We will miss his half smile, his curiosity and his intelligence and conversation. Most of all, he was proud of and loved his children Isabella and Jackson immensely, although his later personal struggles often kept him from fully expressing that pride and love. He was loved and he loved. We love you Dustin and will miss you even as we carry you with us, always and forever. We'll see you on our walks, in the grass and flowers and trees, in the clouds, in the mountains and rivers, in gatherings, in silence, in the stars and moon, in our dreams.
In words that come from Native American People that have lived on this land for a thousand generations: "In the stone-cold mountains of the desert there is a strange trade. You can swap the whirlwind of life for eternal peace of the soul". Dustin longed, we now believe, to make that swap. Hopefully it was a fair trade. Our wish is that Dustin found that peace he long sought and failed to find in this life.
Dustin Travis Allee it's with broken hearts that we now share your memory
The amazing things we saw through your eyes
And how you explained the
Cloud formations in the skies
You were so beautiful inside and out
Not a day will go by
Without us feeling you in our heart.
Our future road trips will bring us closer to you
we will see and feel you in every Mountain View
You were so much more then you'll ever comprehend
You loved us with all your heart Until the very end
Dad we will always cherish the times we shared together
You will be in our hearts
Always and Forever.
~Poem created by Isabella and Jackson Allee
