January 27, 1934 – February 4, 2022
Eleanor "Ele" L. Tekansik, 88, long-time resident of Leadville, and Canon City, Colorado passed away peacefully in Aurora, Colorado on Friday, February 4, 2022. She was born and raised in Leadville. She was the second daughter of the late Raymond and Dolores Anna (Dice) Bond. After graduating from Lake County High School (Class of 1952) she started working at Safeway where she met Anthony "Tony" V. Tekansik. Ele married Tony on June 3, 1957, after which they shared a love of road-trips and family vacations.
Ele was an active volunteer of Little Sisters of the Poor, of St Joseph Church in Leadville, where she would bake up a storm! Ele enjoyed painting, bowling, and outdoor activities like camping and fishing.
Ele is survived by her children, Debbie L. Albedo, Anthony R. "Toots" (Sara Klinkers) Tekansik, Robert V. "Bob" (Tina) Tekansik, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, a great-great grandchild, as well as several nieces, nephews, and numerous dear friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, Anthony Vincent Tekansik, beloved daughter Sherrie, brothers; Ray and Bobby, and sisters; Dolores and Helen.
A Memorial Service to celebrate Ele's life will be scheduled at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to At-Home Hospice , 2675 S. Abilene Street, Suite 250, Aurora, CO 80014 or a charity of your choice in her name.
The family would like to thank Crystal Albedo (granddaughter), and Jenny Thompson of At-Home Hospice, for the comfort and compassion, laughter, and friendship they shared with Ele during her final journey the past four-months
