Fusako ("Fuzzy") Okuno passed away on March 29, 2025 in Littleton, Colorado. She was born March 1928 in Walnut Grove, California to Tama and Shimataro Yasuda. Her family was brought to Denver from the Walerga, Tule Lake and Topaz internment camps of WWII. She graduated from Manual High School. Fuzzy's natural attraction to fun and her athleticism enabled participation on Japanese-American women's basketball and softball teams.

Fuzzy was a devoted mother during her young children's lives, dedicating much time and energy transporting them to all their activities. She was a gifted seamstress and made wonderful outfits for her children. She was a loving, thoughtful and giving grandmother and aunt. She made beautiful quilts for her grandchildren and many nieces' children. She supported her family in every way she could. She was a long-time dedicated member of Simpson Methodist Church where friendships were forged and reinforced. She was a fun-loving, thoughtful and loving friend to many.

Fuzzy enjoyed bowling with her husband and their friends. She learned the game of golf which she shared with Iwao and their good friends, enabling their participation in exciting and fun golf trips. Her favorite game was Mexican Train. Her greatest joy was spending time with her grandchildren, Ashley, Richard and Lexie. Fuzzy was an amazing human being, with a huge capacity for love and life. She was a most kind, forgiving and loving mother, grandmother, wife, aunt and friend. She will be deeply missed by all those she loved.

She is survived by her three children and their families,  her daughter Denise (Kevin), her son Robbie (Mindy) and granddaughter Ashley (Jordan) and great grandson Brixton, her son Jimmy (Heidi) and grandchildren Richard and Lexie; her nieces Grace (John) and Mary; and by Iwao's many nieces and nephews and their families. She was preceded by her husband Iwao and her siblings Shitoko Tokunaga and Koichi Jerry (Gladys) Yasuda and nephew John.

Fuzzy's Celebration of Life is planned for Saturday, June 7, 2025 from 10:30am to 12:30pm at the Grant Ranch Village Center, 7255 W Grant Ranch Blvd, Littleton, Colorado 80123.
