Gary Max Griffin, 81, of Castle Rock, Colorado, died on July 19, 2022. He was born on January 13, 1941, to Dieta Lee Griffin and Ogden Mayo Griffin in Kemp, Texas.

He married Judy Ann Percival in 1962 and they had two children, Anthony Mayo Griffin and Marshall Hayes Griffin, and they adopted a third son Ronald Griffin. He married Terry Ann Whiteside in 1990, joining families with Terry and her son Lane Palmer Whiteside.

Gary attended the University of North Texas and received a bachelor's degree in business administration. Later he attended the University of Houston Law School. Gary was an Airman in the Texas Air National Guard from 1963-1969.

Gary worked in the insurance industry beginning in the sixties continuing his professional career through the eighties. He embarked on entrepreneurial endeavors in the nineties and enjoyed those for the rest of his life. He was always dedicated to his faith and active in his church. He was a founding member or board member of many of the churches he attended throughout his life.

Gary is survived by his wife Terry Ann Griffin, his sons Anthony Mayo Griffin, Marshall Hayes Griffin, and Lane Palmer Whiteside, his grandchildren, Acacia Palmer Whiteside, Cooper Bennett Griffin and Eliyanah Rivkah Griffin, and his sister Glenda Genell Thorn. He was preceded in death by his parents Dieta Lee Griffin and Ogden Mayo Griffin, his first wife Judy Ann Percival, his son Ronald Griffin, and his brother Gayle Lee Griffin.

Memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 13th at 10:30 am at Cherry Hills Community Church in the Dixon Chapel located at 3900 Grace Blvd, Highlands Ranch, Colorado 80126. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Parkinson's Foundation .
