Gary Jacobsen died peacefully at home on June 7, 2024. He grew up moving around the country and abroad with his Air Force family. While in high school, he was the reigning State Golf Champion in Nebraska. He attended the University of Nebraska and later enlisted in the Marines. He was very proud of his service and very patriotic.

Later he moved to Denver and after spending several years running his own business, he worked for the USPS. He loved the mountains and did a lot of hiking, camping, and backpacking. Late in life he discovered he had a daughter and they connected and corresponded by phone often. Gary also had a wonderful group of friends in the Denver area and thought of them as his "extended family".

Gary is survived by his daughter Lisa Benni, of Downers Grove, IL, his sister and brother-in-law Robyn and Fred Amis. of Omaha, NE, nephew David and nieces Kelly and Jennifer.

A committal service will be held Tuesday, July 23, 2024 at 11:30am at Fort Logan National Cemetery, 3698 S. Sheridan Blvd., Denver, CO 80235 staging area B. Memorials may be made to the Wounded Warriors Project in Gary's name.
