It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of our mother Georgette Fischer on May 21, 2023 from complications due to lung and heart failure. She passed peacefully with all of her family surrounding her with love. Georgette was born in 1946 in Zemun, Yugoslavia and immigrated with her parents to Holon, Israel when she was 2 years old. She passed in Denver, CO where she lived the last 5 years of her life.

She went into the Israeli Army at 18 years old and became a sharp shooter. She was an avid reader and seeker of knowledge. Georgette was very active and enjoyed being outdoors in nature with her many animals, especially her rabbits. She was a great student and received her undergraduate English degree and eventually became proficient in 7 languages: Yugoslav, Hebrew, English, French, German, Spanish and Italian. She loved to travel and visited many places in the world.

She was a kind, loving mother to her two daughters, Gayle and Annie, and a loving Grandmother to her grandson Jake. She was also a wonderful mother--in-law to her daughter-in-law, Jamie and son-in-law, Gregg.

Georgette was always a very talented and creative artist, having her own clothing business with her friend Jan for many years.  She continued painting amazing watercolor pictures and creating art throughout her life.  She was also active in real estate investing beginning in her 30's, investing in Los Angeles, Las Vegas and Denver.

Georgette requested not to have a service.  We are celebrating her life with family only.  She was a lifelong animal lover and especially loved cats. If you are able, please make a donation in Georgette's name to The Dumb Friends League
