Obituary

On June 10, 2025, Godfrey (Jeff) John Everitt went to his heavenly home to be with his Savior. While we mourn the loss of our dad, we are reassured in God's promise of peace and joy for all eternity! Jeff battled valiantly with his bout with cancer and exceeded all expectations of longevity. We rejoice in the fact that his final days were without pain and surrounded by loved ones and family friends.

Jeff was born in Bernardsville, NJ on March 11, 1939. Jeff was a man of honor, resilience, service, and integrity! He was never a victim of his circumstances in his life, especially overcoming a difficult childhood. His sister, Jackie and he were separated and abandoned by their parents at a very young age. Jeff never let his early childhood setbacks define his future, and went on to be a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He had a distinguished military and civil servant career.

Jeff met and married the love of his life, Nicki Andregg, and celebrated 63 years of marriage before she returned home to our Lord in February of 2021. Their marriage was a true inspiration to many, including Cris, Cathy, and Jeff. While we moved frequently, dad always made it an adventure to embrace, and family was the top priority. He taught us the value of family togetherness and being there for each other no matter the situation or distance. He also taught us how to value the people we met, and to treat people with respect and dignity. Jeff never met a stranger and was a father figure to many of our friends throughout our lives. Of the many attributes, our dad's humor was always in the forefront of any interaction with him.

Jeff had a passion for service to others. His 20 years in the United States Air Force was distinguished and decorated. During his time in the service, he saw tours of duty in Europe, Vietnam, and other countries. Post military, Jeff served the state of Colorado leading the Emergency Response programs for the state. He also owned his own company that was dedicated to Emergency Response analysis and program implementation for both Federal, State and public companies. Jeff was also active in coaching youth sports programs during his military career.

On the personal side, our dad had a love for learning, debating, music, and the Denver Broncos! Our dad was always well read on a multitude of topics and enjoyed conversing with anyone on any subject. An avid music lover, he enjoyed many genres, and loved to sing aloud even though he couldn't carry a note. And what about those Broncos, how much did he love them? Even in his last days you could make out comments about the Blue and Orange! His passions: love of family, friends, learning, music, and the Broncos were defiantly passed down to his children and grandchildren.

Jeff is survived by his daughter Cathy (Jim), son Jeff (Lori), grandchildren David, Ryan, Steven, Jaki, and Jason, great grandchildren, Lillie, Autum, Shawn, Donovan Sloane and Eliana, sisters Jackie Spyra (John), and Bonnie (Ken Love). He is proceeded in death by his wife Nicki and daughter Cristen

Dad, enjoy your eternal rest, and thank you for all the love, support, and guidance. Dad, you were a man we all cherished and admired!
