July 28, 1934 – June 14, 2022
Jack Leon Leweke Sr. passed away on the evening of June 14, 2022 at the age of 87, at St. Anthony's hospital in Lakewood.
Jack was born in Rocky Ford, Colorado to Rural L. and Mary M. Leweke and grew up in the lower Arkansas River Valley of Colorado. After graduation from high school, Jack joined the Unites States Air Force, where he served for 22 years, including during the Vietnam war where he undertook temporary duty assignments in Thailand and Guam as part of the Strategic Air Command.
Upon retirement from U.S.A.F., Jack resided in Aurora, Colorado and continued to work in a number of roles as materials inspector for Johnson and Johnson Ultrasound, Martin Marietta Corp., and as a janitor at local elementary schools. After retirement, he undertook construction of a mountain home in Park County, Colorado where he resided until a few days before his passing.
Jack is survived by his children Jaqua Abitbol, Jack Leweke Jr., Carl Leweke, and six grand-daughters. He is preceded in death by his wife Louise, parents, one half-sister and 4 half brothers.
Committal service will be held Wednesday, July 27, 2022 at 9:30am at Ft. Logan National Cemetery, 3698 S. Sheridan Blvd., Denver, Colorado 80235 at Staging area "B". Both Jack & Louise will be inurned at that time.
