Obituary

It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Jacqueline Mitchell Murphy Kremers, known as Jackie, died on July 11, 2025, in Littleton, Colorado, at the age of 93. Born on February 3, 1932, in Omaha, Nebraska, Jackie was a remarkable woman whose life was defined by her unwavering love for family, her dedication to education, and her deep commitment to her community.

Jackie was the only child of John Michael Murphy and Jesse Budd Mitchell. Growing up in Omaha, she graduated from Central High School and received a Bachelor of Science degree at the University of Nebraska in Lincoln. In November of 1953, Jackie married her high school sweetheart, Ken Kremers, in Omaha. Jackie began her career as a first-grade teacher in Omaha before joining Ken in Morocco where he was stationed with the Air Force. Their partnership was a testament to devotion and mutual respect, building a life filled with love, laughter, and love of travel.

Jackie was a proud mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, leaving behind a legacy of love and care through her children: Ellen (Dave) Youngers of Oronoco, Minnesota; Margaret (Phil) Swank of Centennial, Colorado; and Doug (Annie) Kremers of Leawood, Kansas. She was also grandmother to five grandchildren—Janet (Jaliza Marlin) Youngers, Beth (Jeff) Culver, and Matt (Sarah) Youngers, Michael (Melanie) Telthorst, Anna (Dave) Marchbanks, and five great-grandchildren.

Beyond her family, Jackie left her mark on the community through her various roles and contributions. She worked as a sales associate at the Emily Laurence Clothing Store and served as a sales representative for Allied Fibers. Her community involvement extended to her membership in organizations such as St. Gabriel the Archangel Episcopal Church, where she was active in the Daughter's of the King, and the Kappa Alpha Theta Denver Alumni. Jackie also volunteered at the Denver St. Francis Center, embodying her commitment to serving others.

Jackie's faith was a foundation in her life, and she found solace and strength in her church community. Her kindness, generosity and hospitality touched many lives, and she will be remembered fondly by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

A memorial service to celebrate Jackie's life will be held on Saturday, July 19, 2025, at 11:00 AM at St. Gabriel the Archangel Episcopal Church, located at 6190 E Quincy Ave, Cherry Hills Village, CO. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to St. Gabriel the Archangel Episcopal Church or to a charity of your choice.

We would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Littleton Adventist Hospital for the exceptional care they provided to Jackie in her final days.
