Janet Lynn Barker-Gross was born on March 29, 1953 in Warren, Ohio to Richard H. Barker and MaryJane (Sulek) Barker and died on June 4, 2022 in Lone Tree, Colorado.

Janet graduated from Youngstown State University with degrees in teaching and performance. She also graduated from Kent State University with a nursing degree. Janet was a Registered Nurse for 30 years.

She was a lover of opera, old movies, bad puns, spontaneous drives to wherever, cooking, reading cookbooks, dining out, knitting and crocheting.

Janet is survived by her husband Peter Gross, brother Robert J. Barker (Anna), Pamm Gross, Sophie Gross, Barbara Gross (Ben Stiegler), nieces, nephews, cousins, and a great nephew. She was preceded in death by her parents and niece Katherine Lynn Barker.

"Janet was a strong resourceful woman who enjoyed life, could complete my thoughts, shared the same wacky humor I did, and gave me a better life than I was living. She loved travel, finding new stores or restaurants, and driving in the mountains to see what was around the next bend. Many Sunday mornings, we would hop in the car, and she would ask "Okay, what direction do we want to go today?" She loved Santa Fe at Christmas time (cooler weather and no crowds). She was also perfectly content to plop down in a chair and watch hours of the Food Network or house remodeling/restoration shows on HGTV. She had a great smile that everyone who knew her commented on. I loved her and I will miss her." - Peter Gross

A memorial service with burial of Janet's cremains will be held Friday, July 15, 2022 at 10:30am at Seven Stones Cemetery, 9635 North Rampart Range Road, Littleton CO 80125. Following the service, people are invited to come to JP's Asian Bistro, 8351 N Rampart Range Rd Littleton, CO 80125 to nosh and celebrate Janet's life.
