Obituary

Janet Louise Miller Wilson passed away on February 2, 2024, at the age of 72 in Denver, Colorado. Born on October 7, 1951, in Denver, Janet was a compassionate and gentle soul that made a lasting impression on people with her kindness and humor. She is survived by her brother, three daughters and three grandchildren.

Janet was a West High School alumna and earned a bachelor's degree in Education from Metropolitan State University. Being a mother was her greatest joy and she spent the early years of her children's lives as a stay-at-home mom. She later had a long and interesting career in various avenues of real estate and the housing industry. She had vast knowledge about all things Colorado and particularly Denver having lived most of her life in the city. Janet had a real passion and sense of pride at being a third generation Denver native; she was fond of saying nobody knew more about Denver than she did and loved to talk about Denver history, interesting facts and historical landmarks. It goes without saying that she was a lifelong Denver Broncos fan, just like her parents before her and her entire family.

Janet had a variety of hobbies and interests. She had impeccable taste in music: she loved classic rock and even grunge, having raised teenagers in the 1990s. She was also a fierce reader: she became immersed in social justice issues and spent a lot of time learning and delving into the history behind them.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Colorado Ballet or the Denver Botanic Gardens . Janet had a deep appreciation for the ballet and was an avid gardener and green thumb. Supporting these organizations would honor her memory.

Janet Louise Miller Wilson will be dearly missed by her family, friends, and all those whose lives she touched, which could arguably be just about anyone she met. Her legacy of love will live on in the hearts of those who knew her.
