He left us just like he lived, peacefully and with grace. Joel Fraites was a kind, intelligent, reliable, and trustworthy man who cared deeply about his family and friends, as well as his church in Wayne, New Jersey, where he thoroughly enjoyed singing in the choir for many years. Joel treasured music. He could be a man of few words, but those he shared held meaning and purpose.

Joel was an avid reader, especially appreciating science fiction, with Star Wars being among his most favored. He was also known to share dad jokes with his boys, Joshua and Jeremiah, as well as others!  He loved his sons with all his heart, as he did his wife, daughter-in-law, and grandchildren. There was an unwavering soft spot in his heart for his beloved golden retrievers.

Joel is survived by his wife Kathy, son Jeremiah, daughter-in-law Francesca, grandchildren Tommy and Dakota, and cousin Ivy.  He was preceded in death by his son Joshua.

His thoughtful soul will be deeply missed and much loved forever.
