John S.
Fish
February 5, 1946 – January 31, 2022
John Stanley Fish was born February 5, 1946 in Vans Nuys, California to Francis Fish and Helen Loomis Fish. John and his brother Dan were lovingly raised by their mother, Helen. His dad, Francis, passed away December 12, 1959 when John was 12.
John loved all things mechanical. Nothing was off limits. If he couldn't fix it, he would build a better one. He enjoyed riding his bicycle, which helped him with his paper route. That evolved into riding motorcycles to the streets of Mulholland Drive to the Mojave Desert, always exploring. He was always working on something. Motorcycles, cars, hot rods, and go carts.
He had different jobs including gas stations and a machinist at a pump factory. He got drafted to the Army 1965 an was stationed in Davis, California as an MP. While in the army, he hauled tomatoes as a side hustle. After the Army, he started working for Cadillac as a mechanic, meeting Margo Schoepf at Casa De Cadillac. They married in 1975 and had twins, Jamie and Jason in 1976. John, Margo and the twins moved to Colorado in 1980. He continued his career working at Cadillac dealers in Denver until he retired. He also did a short stint with Snap on Tools. He enjoyed doing anything outside, 4 wheeling, hiking, riding motorcycles, camping, bicycling, or anything he could do with his family and friends.
John suffered with Parkinson's and Lewy Body dementia for many years. These cruel and debilitating diseases ended his life. We take comfort in knowing he is whole again. He was loved by so many for his kindness, generosity, honesty, unselfishness, strength, and desire to help anyone, like driving around during a blizzard with Jason and helping people getting unstuck. They had a special bond. Always with a smile and a fantastic sense of humor. (Like giving everyone a nickname) He will be missed by so many, but especially Margo and Jason.
He is survived by his wife Margo and son Jason. Preceded in death by his daughter Jamie.
Love everyday like there is no tomorrow.
