Obituary

John Allen Shivley, 64, passed away Monday April 3, 2023 at Swedish Hospital surrounded by his daughters and grandchildren. He was born at Mercy Hospital April 13, 1958 to Duncan Robert Shivley and Helen (Margaret Maurer Clark) Shivley.

John was a hard working man who worked most of his life in masonry as a hod carrier for local #720. He then went on to be a crane operator for Frolick for many years until Frolick retired and dad then moved on to RMS and was finally given the opportunity to do what  he had always been waiting for... to run and operate tower cranes. He was always such a hard worker.
One of his favorite things in life was music. You could bet that no matter what he was doing or where he was he had his music playing nice and loud. He enjoyed the outdoors and fishing and camping. His grandkids were his joy and favorite activities to do with McKinley were to play with her Easy Bake oven and board games. He was so excited to find out Damien wanted to learn chess and enjoyed teaching him but hardly ever let him win and you can bet his artistic talents were tested when drawing with Kaleb.
He is survived by his wife Annelies Shivley, his two daughters Kristina Shivley and Marilyn Shivley his 3 grandkids Damien Shivley, McKinley Shivley and Kaleb Shivley, his sisters Barbara Scott and Nancy Brigham and his two older brothers Bob Shivley and Clark Shivley, his 8 nephews and 4 nieces, 7 great nephews and 6 great nieces, 8 cousins and 34 great cousins. Preceded in death by his parents Duncan and Helen Shivley and brother Richard Shivley.
