Kathy Lynn (Zunk) Sumner of Aurora, Colorado passed away on July 12, 2022. Kathy was born in Liberal, Kansas on October 21, 1952 to Robert and Dolores Zunk. She attended Hooker High School graduating in 1971.

Kathy married Rickie Lynn Sumner and together they had three children, Eric, Donna and Andrea. Rickie and Kathy raised their children in Garden City, Kansas and following Rickie's retirement, moved to Aurora, Colorado to be near their family. Rickie passed away eleven days after Kathy on July 23, 2022.

Kathy is survived by children, Eric Sumner (Kelli), Aurora, Colorado; Donna Whittington (Clay), Denver, Colorado; and Andrea Schaffer, Denver, Colorado; grandchildren Zach Sumner, Mackenzie Sumner, Ali Shantz (Derek), Peyton Ross, and Jayden Schaffer, great grandchildren, Stella and Jude Shantz; sisters, Vickie Davis and Beckie Bailey (Jim). She was predeceased by parents, Robert and Dolores Zunk and brother, Steven Zunk.

Memorial donations may be made in Kathy's name to the American Cancer Society

A combined memorial service for Rickie and Kathy will be held on Saturday, August 27, 2022, 10:00 am at Miller Mortuary Chapel, 908 N. Lincoln Ave. Liberal, Kansas 67901.
