Laura Anne Hinrichs (67) of Denver, Colorado passed away April 30, 2022, at the Denver Hospice after a brief illness with cancer. She was born in Fairbury, NE to Harvey and Anne Hinrichs. Laura graduated from Fairbury High School in 1972, then completed her Associates Degree in Nursing at St. Mary's School of Nursing in Omaha, and her BSN from Union College in Lincoln, NE. She was a certified Critical Care Registered Nurse (CCRN) for over 40 years. She retired from the University of Colorado Hospital in 2019.

Laura loved to travel and spent many years as a travel critical care nurse, and traveling to hospitals across the country training nurses, and physicians how to use their medical monitors. Hawaii was her happy place, and she visited as often as her work and schedule would allow. Laura loved attending concerts and the theater. She was a member of the Denver Center for the Performing Arts in Denver, a collector of Longaberger baskets, all things Tommy Bahama, and commemorative pins from almost every hard rock café. Laura was a great cook that loved to collect and share recipes! She also loved to chat – in person and by texting her friends.

Her parents and her sister Linda preceded her in death. She leaves behind many friends and former colleagues that will miss her dearly.

Laura has requested to be cremated, and a celebration of life will be held at a later date. Memorials can be made to your favorite charity or to the Fairbury Cemetery Association , P.O. Box 408, Fairbury, NE 68352 or to the Denver Hospice in her name.
