Louis
Mullen
October 17, 1957 – February 1, 2022
64, died unexpectedly on February 1, 2022 at Elevation Health and Rehabilitation Center in Englewood, CO. He was born in Queens, NY on October 17, 1957 to Frank W. Mullen & Mary Rose Mullen. He grew up in Ridgefield, NJ and graduated from Ridgefield Memorial High School, then trained as a bricklayer at Bergen County Technical Schools in Paramus, N.J. He moved to Colorado in 1978 and worked in the maintenance department at the University of Colorado from 1989 to 2015.
Louis was a life-long artist and enjoyed doing portraits and other artwork for family members and friends, as well as for private commissions. He loved music, particularly the Beatles and other classic rock groups, who often were the subjects of his artwork. Although he suffered from disabilities during most of his life, he had an upbeat personality and brought joy into the lives of those who knew him.
He is survived by his siblings: brothers Frank Jr. of Reno, NV, James and Thomas of New Jersey; sisters, Barbara Tumino, Rosemary Mullen and Patricia Mullen, all of New Jersey, and an aunt, Mary Smith Beduch, of West Palm Beach, FL; and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents.
A memorial service will be held at a later date. Memorials may be made to the Colorado National Alliance for the Mentally Ill namicolorado.org or the Denver Art Museum, denverartmuseum.org in Louis' memory.
