Obituary

Luanna passed on the morning of September 22, 2024 at home in the presence of her family. She was born to Norma and Frank Dougherty and grew up in Lakewood. She attended Lakewood High School, Colorado State University, where she met her husband Ray, and later graduated from Regis University with a degree in Business Administration. She worked for several trust companies in the metro area as a pension administrator. Luanna had a quiet demeanor, but she always brought a sense of confidence, happiness and enjoyment to the people she was around. For several years she volunteered on the help line at the Denver Alzheimer's Association.

Luanna enjoyed spending time with her family, skiing, biking, yoga, Mah Jong, hiking, non- impact aerobics, travel and painting with watercolors. The latter she took up later in life and was quite accomplished. Luanna and Ray were fortunate to be able to combine travel with hiking and sea kayaking in Canada and biking in lreland.

After living in Lakewood, Denver and Centennial, they moved to Littleton in 1996, and Luanna adopted the city as her home. She loved the small town feel of downtown Littleton. With most of her activities in the Littleton area she had a close circle of great friends with varying interests. Her favorite pastime was watching, via streaming, her granddaughter Morgan play volleyball for Suffolk University in Boston. She and Ray traveled each year to see some of the games in person.

Luanna is survived by her husband, daughter Jennifer (Brad), granddaughter Morgan, sister Catherine in Wheat Ridge, sister Trudi (Hiram) in California and brother Phil (Nancy) in Pennsylvania.

A celebration of life is planned for Saturday, October 19, at 2:30, at the Three Trees Chapel, 13416 W Arbor Pl., Littleton, CO. The dress code will be casual as Luanna wanted this to be a party in her honor. In lieu of flowers memorials maybe made to your charity of choice in Luanna's name.
