Obituary

BUFTON, MALCOLM RICHARD "Buff; M.R."

M. Richard Bufton, 89 years old, died peacefully with his wife of thirty-six years, Suzanne by his side in U C Health, Aurora, CO of covid pneumonia early morning Tuesday, January 25, 2022.

He was born October 10,1932, in Erdington County of Birmingham North England.  He was educated in London and received all school, Lord Kemsley Award for academic achievement.  He joined the British Army after graduation.  After his military service in Suez Canal, Egypt during the Korean Conflict, he immigrated to British Columbia.  His family in Durango, Colorado relocated him to the USA in 1955 and became a permanent resident of Denver, CO in 1960.

After attending Ft Lewis College and working for Marathon Oil in Durango, CO, he began a thirty-year career as a cartographer and supervisor with Chevron Oil and Gas.

His many loved nieces and nephews will remember his humor, storytelling and sense of humor.  He was a skilled hunter and so so angler.  After retirement he enjoyed family travels, golf, classical music, opera, ballroom dancing, and good football.

He is preceded in death by his parents, brothers; Ted, John, and C. Ernest, sisters; Gloria G. Cherry and Jean Zellitti.

No services will be held.  Memorials may be made to Salvation Army , 1370 Pennsylvania St, Denver, CO 80203; Denver Lyric Opera Guild , P.O. Box 339, Englewood, CO 80151.
