Marianne L.
Dickerson
October 16, 1940 – December 1, 2022
Marianne Louise (Hibschle) Dickerson passed suddenly, after a brief illness, on December 1, 2022, at the age of 82. She spent her last days embraced by the love of her immediate family.
Marianne was born and raised in the highest city in the continental United States, Leadville, Colorado, of which she was very proud. A 1958 graduate of Leadville High School, she was the winner of a prestigious Climax Scholarship. Eventually Marianne moved to the Denver area, where she raised six lively and distinctive children.
She ran a home day-care for many years, cherishing each child under her care and teaching her own children to share their time and love with the little ones. Her family remains close to these families treasuring their friendship and love.
About the time Marianne's children became teenagers, she sought employment outside the home and became the operations manager for a local Law Firm. During her employment, Marianne earned her certification and served as a Paralegal. In December of 2021, after nearly 45 years with the same Firm, Marianne and the firm's last attorney mutually retired and closed the Firm.
Marianne supported and volunteered for many charities throughout her life and was most active in her Catholic faith, as a member of St. Marks Catholic Parish. She loved to travel and was always eager to learn and understand the places she visited. A recent trip to Israel - a lifetime dream – was the highlight of her travels.
She is survived by her six children: Gretchen ( David) Rauch of Niceville, Florida; Mikki (Douglas) Stier of Ankeny, Iowa; Jeffery (Lynn) Dickerson of St George Island, Florida; Heidi (Tom Watters) Strong of Westminster, Colorado; Heather (Sean) Hannaway of Bolton, Massachusetts; and Gregory (Alita) Dickerson of St. Maries, Idaho. Marianne is also survived by her 12 grandchildren: Holly, Amy, Thomas, Zachary, Larry, Jessica, Christopher, Sean, Ian, Annie, Meghan and Kathrine; and her ten great-grandchildren: Connor, Nathan, Jillian, Olivia, Liam, Jack, Addison, Avery, Ivy, and Rebecca.
Marianne is preceded in death by her parents, Orrin and Mary Hibschle, her brothers Orrin Eugene Hibschle and William Joseph (Billy Joe) Hibschle, and the love of her life, her husband Larry L. Dickerson.
Marianne's children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren remain proud of her accomplishments, in awe of her quick wit and brilliant mind, and proud of her adventurous spirit and loving heart. Our grief is turned to joy knowing that she is present with the Lord, as well as those loved ones who have gone before her.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that you contribute to St. Jude's Hospital in her name.
