Marie Anne Koneczny, age 89, of Denver, Colorado passed away on Thursday, March 27, 2025. Marie was born in 1936 in Washington DC, the daughter of the late Ralph Cherry and Helen Cherry. She shared her love for music with hundreds of students, teaching piano for 77 years.

Marie was a graduate of George Mason University in Fairfax, Virginia with a Bachelor of Arts in Music Accompaniment.

Surviving are her daughters Kathleen Warren (Patrick) of Warrenton, Virginia, Karen Knauff (John) of Denver, Colorado, and Kristen Koneczny (Devwon) of Manassas, Virginia; her seven grandchildren Justin Davis (Anna) of Chantilly, VA, Jennifer Davis (Mark) of Haymarket, Virginia, Joshua Kuster of Chantilly, Virginia, Ryan Knauff (Taylor) of Denver, Colorado, Jonathon Knauff (Torie) of Aurora, Colorado, Avery Poleski of Glenwood Springs, Colorado, and Aidan Koneczny, currently deployed in the US Navy; and her seven great-grandchildren Berlin Knauff, Oliver Knauff, Langston Davis, Lincoln Davis, Adelaide Davis, Bryce Williams, and Mila Williams; and her brother Ralph L. Cherry of Milton, Delaware.

Along with Marie's parents, she is preceded in death by her daughter, Cynthia Koneczny.

A Celebration of Life and reception will be held in early June (date tbd) in Warrenton, Virginia.
