Marie A. (Yaney) Wagester of Castle Rock, Colorado and formerly of Remus and Mt. Pleasant, Michigan, was a beloved mother, grandmother, sister and aunt. She passed away age 78 peacefully on November 22, 2025.

Marie was born on August 26, 1947, in Portland, Indiana, to Clifford and Jennie (Brower) Yaney. She was a graduate of MJ Murphy Beauty College and proudly owned and operated her own hair salon for many years. She enjoyed serving her community through her work and cherished the opportunity to help her neighbors.

Outside of her profession, Marie loved raising her dogs and dedicated nearly forty years as a 4-H leader. She was exceptionally talented with her hands - whether crocheting, cake decorating or painting - and took great joy in sharing her creations with others.

Marie's family was always central for her.  She is survived by her children, Raymond Wagester (Jennifer) and Tamara Wagester-Subrick (Bob); her grandchildren, Anna and Alison Wagester, and Burke, Dasia, and Z. Subrick. She is also survived by her brother, LeRoy Yaney (Janet), and her sister, Janet (Yaney) Poppe (Frank), as well as many loving nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Clifford and Jennie; her brother Charles Yaney (Marianna, FL), her sisters Mary Braman (Michigan), Patricia Brillhart (Avon Park, FL), and Sharon Weeks (Lorida, FL); and three nephews whom she loved dearly.

A private Christian service was held shortly after her passing. A public Celebration of Life will take place at the Broomfield Township Hall in Remus, Michigan, on Saturday, June 13, 2026, from 12:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. All are welcome to attend.

Marie will be remembered for her kindness, warm smile, and deep love for her family. May she rest in peace and with God's love.
