Mechthild (Mecki) Maria Küppers-Kantor, age 66, of Santa Fe, Denver, and many beautiful places on the earth that we called home, passed away on March 7, 2023. She was born on July 18, 1956 in Neumagen, West Germany to Elisabeth Hoffmann and Hubert Küppers. She earned a master's degree in childhood education and social work in Düsseldorf. Her training, wisdom, and pure love of children made her a perfect confidante to the orphaned children she looked after as a young professional and a natural mother to her own children and grandchild.

She is survived by husband Mathew, children Alexa and Lucas, daughter-in-law Stacey, granddaughter Madi, her brother Wilhelm, cousin Doro, and dozens of other relatives and friends who loved her deeply.

Everyone that knew Mecki will remember her for her beautiful soul, her deep caring for those less fortunate and the force of right in the world, her wide-eyed interest in people and cultures, her fight for human rights, her impeccable taste, her mastery of all things food, her hilarious stories, and THAT laugh. Her passing leaves an emptiness in the hearts of all who knew her. She will be missed dearly.

A private service will be held. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Cobalt Abortion Fund or Sandy Hook Promise representing women's reproductive freedom and ending senseless gun violence — two of the causes Mecki so ardently supported.
