Mike T.
Krebs
September 22, 1960 – September 20, 2024
Michael Thomas Krebs, 64, passed away on September 20, 2024, in Aurora, Colorado after a stage 4 colon cancer diagnosis in 2021. He was born on September 22, 1960, to Edward R. Krebs and Barbara J. Krebs.
Just a teenager, one of Mike's first jobs was working park maintenance at Lake Navajo Park, from 1976 to 1978. He then shifted to helicopter maintenance with MRL from 1979 to 1984. His passion for fixing and building led him to Barker & Associates, where he worked in home renovation from 1985 until 2018. Demonstrating entrepreneurial spirit, Mike founded Homewright Renovations, which he ran successfully until 2022.
In 1997, Mike met the love of his life, Colleen Cossey, and they were married in 1999. Mike took Colleen's children under his wing and shared his quiet steadiness, strength of character and strong work ethic with them.
A man of many interests, Mike had a profound love for nature which was evident through his hobbies that included hiking, fishing, cooking, photography, and woodworking. These activities not only brought joy to Mike but also to those who had the pleasure of joining him.
He is survived by his wife, Colleen Krebs; step-son, Michael Chacon; step-daughter, Brittany Legesse; granddaughter, Sophia Legesse; brother, Dave Krebs; and sister, Shelly Knauf. Michael was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Barbara Krebs.
Mike will be remembered for his skillful hands, his love for the outdoors, and the warmth he brought into the lives of those around him.
The Celebration of Life for Mike Krebs will be on Saturday, October 5, 2024 from 10am-12pm at Parkview Congregational Church (In the fellowship hall) 12444 E. Parkview Dr. Aurora, Colorado 80011.
