Nardi A.
Ferge
July 23, 1954 – April 30, 2024
The family of Nardi Ferge is deeply saddened to announce her passing on April 30, 2024, after her second battle with breast cancer. Nardi passed away peacefully at her home in Englewood, surrounded by loved ones.
Nardi was the proud daughter of Duane and Ruth Dunn of Littleton, Colorado. Duane named Nardi after his favorite sports car; she told the family that only two people in her life knew of the namesake. Growing up, Nardi learned about cars and airplanes through her father's passion, and they attended many shows together, including the Indy 500. Ruth instilled in Nardi a love of cooking and food. Both parents gave her an adventurous spirit, and she traveled to many places in her lifetime. The family heard multiple stories of travels and, best of all, visiting Japan to see her parents, who lived abroad at that time.
Nardi was a woman of many talents and a dedicated worker. She graduated from Arapahoe High School and Arapahoe Community College (Accounting) in Littleton. Nardi lent her skills to the family's restaurants, including the popular 'Reese Coffee House' in Downtown Denver and 'The Doubletree' in Platteville. She was affectionately known as 'Mom' and managed the 'Gemini Tea Shop' in Five Points for a family friend. Her career culminated in a supervisory role in the tax division for The State of Colorado, where she retired after years of service.
Nardi's love for her family and friends was boundless. She was known for her unique blend of positivity, infectious smile, and genuine interest in people. Her family and friends will forever cherish the joy she brought and the love she showered upon them. Nardi loved exploring new and traditional food dishes and hosted the pierogi festival each year in honor of her Polish roots. She also threw celebrations and parties at her home, where guests were guaranteed to meet someone new and have a memorable Nardi & Marty party story.
Nardi was a vibrant and colorful person, which was reflected in her home and surroundings. She decorated each room of her house with a different color theme, but her favorite was her purple bedroom. The front and backyard were filled with flowers of every color. She often mentioned that her greatest treasures were family, friends, life experiences, and what she learned. She held all of them as precious gems.
Nardi is survived by her partner, Marty Tracey; sister, Penny Woods; daughter, Shawnna Ferge (Jared Koller); son, Stephan Ferge; and countless friends.
Nardi's life will be celebrated at the Friday, May 31, 2024 from 12:00pm to 3:00pm at Alli Event Center, 100 South 3rd Avenue, Brighton, CO 80602. The family welcomes anyone with fond memories, stories, or keepsakes of Nardi to attend and share. We encourage everyone to wear a color that reminds them of Nardi to honor her life and spirit. In lieu of flowers or gifts, we ask that you continue Nardi's legacy of kindness by helping someone or sharing a kind word with a stranger.
