Obituary

Noel A. Dickson passed away February 7 just days before her 83rd Birthday in Centennial, Colorado.

Noel was born to Charles and Dorothea Lord of Denver, Colorado on her mother's birthday in 1941. She enjoyed her childhood growing up with her cousins and younger brother Charles B. Lord, spending her summers in Tolland at the family cabin. She graduated from South High School in 1959, continuing her education at St Luke's nursing school. After a year of nursing school Noel changed direction into X-Ray tech.

She met her husband to be, Robert W Dickson, at a dinner club in 1962 and married June 22, 1963. They lived on Franklin Street in Denver and adopted two children two years apart, Kharra Ross (nee Stuart) and Stacey. In 1969 Bob and Noel moved their family to Littleton, Colorado where they would remain.

Bob and Noel loved to travel and had a wonderful social life of old and new friends who enriched their lives. They were always active in the church, first St. Mark's Parish Church in Denver, followed by Good Shepherd in Centennial. They enjoyed singing in the choir and playing in the bell choir. Noel, part way through her career changed tracks to work as an Orthopedic Medical Aid, which she was passionate about. Stacey (Stasia), their youngest daughter, married an Army Officer and moved overseas. Bob and Noel made many trips to visit them wherever they were stationed. The couple were thrilled to be grandparents to two granddaughters, Fiona and Mercedes who became one of the joys during their Golden Years.

Noel loved to travel and was able to go to China, Antarctica, Alaska, multiple trips to Europe to include Russia, a safari in Africa, and various driving adventures within the US. Bob passed after 51 years of marriage leaving Noel with a hole in her heart. However, Noel being a woman of strong faith, eternal optimism, resilience and an undying love of life continued to travel and enjoy life to the upmost.

Noel was passionate about the arts, theater, in particular, and attended performances whenever possible. She enjoyed singing in choirs and had the good fortune to sing in a choir at Carnegie Hall in NYC, a dream come true. Noel was also a founding and active member of Chalets GFWC woman's community service club since 1967.

Friends of Noel remember her wonderful lust for life, sweet smile, interest in others, her cute charm, her unending curiosity in history and other cultures, and love of animals, dogs and elephants in particular. She had wonderful friendships throughout her life full of laughter and camaraderie. A quote from one of her lifelong friends is, " Noel would light up a room with her smile and warm heart". She was open minded and loyal to those around her. Noel was a loving and supportive mother, daughter, grandmother, and friend.

She is survived by her daughter, Stasia (Daniel Bryant), two granddaughters, Mercedes and Fiona (Tanner Anderson). She will be dearly missed by good friends who cherished her and were with her to the end.
