Obituary

Richard "Dick" William Allard, 88 of Arvada, Colorado, passed away peacefully on August 10, 2022, surrounded by family.

Born in Cincinnati, Ohio to John and Mildred Allard, Dick graduated Harrison High School and entered the GE apprentice program where he met many lifelong friends. He was with one of these friends the night he met, and danced with the last woman he would date, Doris.

Dick and Doris were married for over 67 years and had 4 loving daughters. In the early 70's he and Doris made the brave decision to move their family across the country to Colorado where he worked as a manufacturer's sales representative and then joined Cashway Electric Supply, an independent electrical distributor in Denver. He was promoted to vice president and then president of Cashway where he remained until his retirement.

Dick was quite handy when it came to home renovations and remodeled most of the houses they lived in. He relaxed by working outside and took immense pride in a well-manicured yard and clean car. Dick and Doris enjoyed decades of travel both domestic and abroad, including many trips and cruises with family and friends. He found extreme joy in spending time with family, whether it be for the holidays, at a barbecue or for a competitive game of cards.

Dick is survived by his wife, Doris, their daughters Chris (Dave), Lisa (Mark), Terry (Kevin), Leslie (Jon), 14 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren (1 deceased) and 1 great great grandchild. He is also survived by several siblings and many nieces and nephews. He was proceeded in death by his parents and 2 siblings.

A memorial service will be held Tuesday, August 23, 2022 at 2:00pm at Wellshire Presbyterian Church, 2999 S. Colorado Blvd, Denver, CO 80222. Reception to follow service at the church. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Lutheran Collier Hospice or a charity of your choice.
