What a great life! Survived until age 97. Amazing wife, Jean Leonard, for 65 years who preceded him in death.
Surviving offspring: Steve (Christine) of Columbia, SC, Judy (Susan) of Bothell, WA, Andy (LeAnn) of Denver, CO, and Win (Beth Marino) of Redmond, WA. Five wonderful grandchildren: Ryan Hait-Campbell (Stephanie), Ben Hait, Sarah Hait, Ana Sofia Hait, Eric Hait. And sister, Elizabeth Hart of Simsbury, Conn.
Lucky to be raised in Ann Arbor in the shadow of the University of Michigan campus. Two years in the Navy, served in Korea and China in 1945-46. Graduated from University of Michigan, Ross School of Business in 1949, "Go Blue!", two years at Chicago Tribune and then 33 years with Procter and Gamble in Cincinnati. Marketing Manager for a number of popular brands, VP of P&G Canada, and then Director of P&G Corporate Public Affairs.
Along the way, had enriching "second career" serving on Boards of many nonprofits in Cincinnati including National Alliance of Business, PBS station WCET, Committee to Save Transit, Southwest Ohio Regional Transit Authority, Alzheimer's Association, Pro Seniors, a founding member of Jobs for Cincinnati Graduates.
He struggled with golf and tennis at the Cincinnati Country Club, and the Tucson Country Club. And was a member of the Cincinnati Literary Club, and the Cincinnati University Club and served as a Warden of the Indian Hill Church.
Together with his wife, Jean, spent 15 winters in Tucson, AZ, hiking, playing tennis and golf with a wonderful group of friends. With Jean, he traveled much of the world and enjoyed a number of OLLI classes to keep their aging brains active. The past few years were spent in Denver, CO.
Family services will be private. Memorials may be made to the Food Bank of The Rockies in his memory. Remembrances to the family may be made to Judy Hait c/o Monarch Society, 1534 N. Pearl St., Denver, CO 80203.
