Robert A. Pinto

Robert A. Pinto, 81, a native Utican, late of Denver and prior from Orange County, CA, died on July 29, 2026, following a courageous battle with a lengthy illness.

He was the son of the late John C. and Rose M. (Pisano) Pinto. He was a graduate of T. R. Proctor high School and Bowling Green University. Upon graduation, he became a high school industrial arts teacher in Ohio. He next moved to industrial sales and relocated to California. Encouraged by a friend, he began a successful career as a financial adviser, retiring after forty years. He relocated to Denver to spend his retirement years with friends.

Prior to his illness he led a very active life, indulging in his passions for travel, culinary creations, fine woodworking, theatrical events and sharing times with special friends among whom were many well-known television, Hollywood and theater personalities. He loved being a host or a guest and his presence made every event more enjoyable for all in attendance.

Above all, he loved times spent with nieces and nephews and their children, as well as many friends in California, New York, Colorado and elsewhere around the country. However, distance never diminished his love of family and his hometown.

He is survived by his brother, John G. (Emily) Pinto, of Philadelphia; sisters, Aurelia (Don) Greico, of New Hartford and Patricia (Anthony) Dispirito, of Utica; as well as many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and nephews, Godchildren and close friends.

A visitation will be held Saturday, August 29, 2026 at 9:00 AM (EST) at Historic Old St. John's Church, 240 Bleecker St., Utica, NY, followed by a funeral mass at 10:00am (EST).

In lieu of flowers donations may be made, in Bob's name, to the Mother Cabrini Shrine, 20189 Cabrini Blvd., Golden, CO 80401 or The Lupus Foundation of America.
