Roger L
Green
February 8, 1933 – December 16, 2023
Roger LaRue Green was born in El Paso, Texas and grew up in Houston with his parents and two brothers. He attended the University of Houston, where he met the love of his life, Joyce Woodruff Rogers, and graduated from seminary with a Master of Divinity at Southern Methodist University. He and Joyce were married in 1956 and moved to Montana in 1958, where he began his service as a United Methodist Minister. In this capacity, he served churches in three communities in Montana, one on the western slope of Colorado, and two in the Denver Metro area.
Roger was a devoted and loving husband, father, and grandfather. He loved spending time outdoors, especially camping and hiking in the Rockies, traveling, and interacting with people. He devoted a good deal of his time to volunteering in the community and was involved with organizations that promoted social justice. He strove to live his life with sincerity, integrity, and compassion for others. He will be missed.
