Rose Mary
Hill
August 25, 2024
Rose Mary (Rosie) Hill, a wife, a mother, a grandma, a great grandmother, a sister-in-law, an aunt, a cousin and friend, passed away at the age of 84 years on August 25, 2024.
As a wife, she was truly in love with the man of her dreams, Ron. When around the two of them, you could feel the love they had for each other, they adored one another. They allowed each other to be their own person with their own interests. For Ron it was poker or Texas Holdem with friends or family, watching boxing or football. For Mom, it was her artwork with her artist friends or house and garden tours and the farmers market. But together they were magical, watching them dance with one another was graceful and elegant or just plain fun, especially when Ron did his legendary "chicken dance". Ron passed away April 2010 and she never stopped missing the love of her life, missing his smiles, laughter, hugs and quirky comebacks.
To the rest of us, she defined love. She encouraged us to explore our dreams, tap into our creative side and adventurous spirits as she had done. She was there for us in both our ups and downs and always had a hug or smile ready to help lighten the burdensome times. She knew the importance of listening, not just to our words but to our hearts.
The arrival of her grandchildren into her life brought a special kind of joy to her. She took them under her wings just as she had done with her own kids. Made sure that each knew how special they were and with the help of Ron, they provided opportunities that they may not have had otherwise. These opportunities allowed them to explore their interests and open their worlds to see other possibilities in what life had to offer.
Then came the great grandchildren, that was the cherry on top. She would light up seeing their beautiful faces and hearing their laughter. They made her life complete.
As an artist, she brought the beauty of nature to life on canvas, watercolor paper or even clay. With her artist friends, their Tuesday "paint day" didn't always result in artwork getting done but it was an important social day for them to solve their own problems and the worlds problems too, together. A loyal group of over 20 years.
Our Mom, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt, cousin, and friend is deeply missed beyond what words can express. We love you!
Rose Mary is survived by her daughters (Monee, Tawnia and Lea), grandkids (Ryan, Lee, Nick, Adam and Matt), sister-in-law (Judy), great-grandchildren (Quinn, Weston, Aria, Jackson, and Isabel).
In lieu of sending flowers, the family asks that you just give a hug and a smile to a person you love and encourage one another to pursue your dreams and talents as our Mom (Rosie) did for us.
Celebration of Life scheduled for May 31, 2025. Additional information to be provided as date nears. Please let family know of your interest to attend to receive updates.
