Ruth A.
Jensen
December 13, 1937 – January 30, 2023
Ruth Ann Jensen, 85 left this world but not our hearts on Monday January 30, 2023, with her family by her side.
Ruth was born in Denver, Colorado to Raymond and Florence Lucero. She was the 4 th oldest out of 10 children. The highlight of her youth was attending modeling school and her prize possession was a pair of 3-inch lavender shoes.
Ruth lived most of her adult life in Las Vegas, Nevada. She was a true a "desert flower" who loved laying in the sun beside the pool. She worked in the bright lights of Vegas for many years before she got her license for home health care. She then devoted her time and energy to caring for the elderly. Her great passion was being a champion/advocate for the elderly. She went on to become an author later in life and wrote a book about the "forgotten ones" caring for the elderly.
After she retired from the home health care field, she longed for the cool night breezes of Colorado. She then moved back to the colorful state. Ruth enjoyed spending time with friends and family, dancing and old country music. Her sense of humor and pocketful of stories were a treat to us all. She was a beautiful, generous soul. She possessed a feisty and sassy spirit that was loved by many.
She truly was a one-of-a-kind gal. Her favorite song was "Don't fence me in". No more fences for her. Rest peacefully desert flower. Ruth will be genuinely missed by those who knew and loved her.
Ruth was the "Grand Dam/Queen of her family. She is survived by her children Mona (Don), Edward Jr. (Angela), Ruth (Matthew) her sisters Martha, Eulalia (Bob), Florinda (Nick), her brother Richard (Nina) and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren and great great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews who loved her dearly. She is preceded in death by her husband James and her son Thomas and six of her ten siblings.
