Obituary

Ruth Ann (Fletcher) Rogers, 87 years young, passed away July 2, 2024, in Wheat Ridge, Colorado. Born May 7, 1937, in Hagerman, New Mexico.

Ruth is survived by her son, Dave Rogers, daughter, Lisa (Garrick) Sasa, granddaughter, Jessica (Poole) (Jonny) Fackler, grandson, Eric Rogers; also, by her great-grandchildren, Phoenix, Jace and Hazel Fackler.

Ruth was the best daughter, wife, Mother, Grandma, Gigi (Great gramma) ever. An only child, she spent her early childhood in the Dexter, Roswell New Mexico area. In 1949,  she and her parents moved to Denver, CO. She was active in her church youth group,  and was baptized at age 14. She graduated from South High School in 1955.  Moving to Grand Junction to attend Mesa Junior College, she met and later married  Ted Rogers in Denver in 1956. She worked to support Ted through college as a secretary. They were married 49 years.

They moved to Steamboat Springs, CO in 1959 and had 2 children, Dave and Lisa.

In 1963, Ruth and Ted moved to Livermore, CA, where Ruth taught Sunday School, helped with kids' school events, canned homemade jam and was a homemaker. In 1970, the Rogers family moved back to Colorado, and settled in Arvada, where she became a legal secretary, and retired from HR at Wright and McGill (Eagle Claw Fishing Co.)

Ruth loved life, friends and family. She enjoyed travelling, skiing, golfing, camping and was a competitive league tennis player well into her 70's. She also participated in church events, playing in several Bridge groups and book clubs as an avid reader. Ruth was always a loyal Broncos and Rockies fan.

She was an amazing seamstress, gardener, cook and devout Christian.  Her bright spirit will live on through her family and will be forever in our hearts.

All are welcome to our celebration of her life on Thursday, July 25, 2024, 2:00pm at Arvada Covenant Church 5555 Ward Road, Arvada, CO 80002. Light snacks and desserts will follow the service in the church reception area. Please join us in fellowship to honor Ruth.
