October 11, 1955 – July 15, 2025
Sue Norman, 69, of Denver passed away July 15, 2025, of complications from an aortic aneurysm. As her illness progressed, she was in her home with hospice care surrounded by the love and support of her family and many friends. Sue was born in Dallas, Texas on October 11, 1955, to Robert C. and Gladys Ruth Norman
Sue was curious, kind, loving, and always a caretaker – her career and interests revolved around helping people. One of her great loves was the community at Montview Presbyterian Church where she was a lifelong member. She especially enjoyed the Westminster Choir which she joined in 1983 (alongside her father Bob Norman). Sue sang alto in the choir for more than 40 years. She traveled to Europe with them, served as a deacon and participated in many church committees, book and supper clubs, and outreach events. Additionally, she enjoyed the arts – including the symphony and theater. A lifelong learner, Sue continually stayed active.
Sue earned a bachelor's degree in human development/family studies at Colorado State University and a master's degree in special education from the University of Northern Colorado. After college, she served a year in VISTA (Volunteers in Service to America) in Fort Yates, ND on the Standing Rock Reservation, worked as a caseworker for Denver Department of Social Services, taught behavior development in Cherry Creek Schools, and eventually moved into customer service for the May D & F Department Store.
Sue then worked for Kaiser Permanente as a patient services and scheduling representative for more than 27 years. She spent many years in the ear, nose and throat clinic before moving to the eye clinic at the Lone Tree facility. She retired in early 2021.
She is survived by brothers R Jeffry Norman (Susan) of Charleston, SC, and Ned P Norman (Maret Felzien) of Sterling, CO, and her nieces Emily Norman (James Reynen) of Charleston, SC, and Ella Norman (Capt. Madeline Fletcher) of Junction City, KS. Sue was proceed in death by her parents and brother Robert T Norman are deceased.
Her memorial service will be held Saturday, September 6, 2025, 2:00pm at Montview Boulevard Presbyterian Church, 1980 Dahlia St., Denver, CO 80220. The service will be live streamed ( Sue Norman Service ). Reception to follow in the Fellowship Hall at Montview.
Memorials can be directed to the Montview Westminster Choir or the Afghan Women's Collective of Denver or an organization of your choosing that helps women and children.
