Pine
March 20, 1956 – January 23, 2023
Tar Pine was born March 20th, 1956, In Pan An a part of the Karen State in Burma. Working 20 years as a communication specialist in a radio tower. Sending Morse code and secret messages while in the resistance against the tyrannical Burmese government. During his time in the resistance army, he would meet his future wife, Dah Doh Moo, who was a commanding lead officer for the women's resistance. Tar Pine faced many obstacles before he could call Dah Doh Moo his wife, being separated over a year after he was sent to the front lines of the war, traveling by boat and overcoming many obstacles to be able to see his love. He proved his love for his wife after she jokingly told him to kiss her dirty feet, which he did, convincing her to be with him. After the hardships and difficulties, they married in March of 1991.
Tar Pine fathered three biological children, Candy Khu, Hsi Hsi, Noah, and adopted another daughter ThuThu. Before coming to the United States of America, the days were spent passing time by fishing, playing volleyball, making kites with plastic bags and sticks for two daughters in the refugee camp called Htam Him.
Tar Pine and his family arrived in The United States September of 2000. After coming to the US, Tar Pine worked hard to provide for his family and adapt to the new lifestyle, especially with his son on the way. Learning English, getting a job, purchasing a car; were all completely new obstacles. Even while facing these new types of struggles, he still wanted the best for his children and prioritized the happiness of his family. He found a love for Elvis, Chuck Norris, and Rambo while in the States.
In 2005, Tar Pine was injured while working. Attempting to fix a Pressure washer, the faulty machine became loose and struck him in his head. This accident broke his skull into 23 fractures and bruised his brain, leaving permanent brain damage. He would spend the next 18 years constantly in and out of 6 different rehabilitation homes.
Even with the brain injury Tar Pine never forgot his wife or children and never stopped being a funny man or a proud father. His spirit was always jovial and contagious even till his last day, surrounded by his family as he took his final rest January 23rd, 2023. He will greatly be missed by his family and friends.
